V.I.P.s hang out with E.D.P.s
Today was V.I.P. Day at Louise White School. For a little while, we had dads, moms, grandmas, aunts, brothers and an Annie hanging out with us. We modeled for our guests how we practice math facts, and then we played math war, Buzz, and even gave Bizz Buzz a try. The kids did well, and the guests were impressed!
Brittany took most of these and I took some; I'm not sure whose is whose:
*This is my fifth (and a half) year teaching fourth grade. *I'm married, but I don't use my married name (it's Seaman). *I have a 28-year-old son, Mac. He lives in Louisiana. *I live in Aurora. *I have two dogs, Skipper Roo Seaman and Gilly Crew Seaman, they are both females. *I love to read. *I don't have one favorite book. That would be like saying I have one favorite student!
*Taking care of the Earth is important to me, so this year I decided to start thrift shopping. My goal is purchase 80% of my clothing from thrift stores over the next year.
*I'm an official volunteer for Operation Christmas Child. *I do not like to cook, but I do like to bake. *I watch television, too. *I love to walk--fast! *I enjoy riding my bike. *The White Sox are my favorite team, the Cubs are my least favorite. *I still love many Cub fans! *I'm not a big football fan, but in the fall I root for the Bears, the Colts, and the LSU Tigers. *I enjoy Charlie Brown and his friends, they teach important lessons. *Red Vines are one of my favorite candies, but I don't eat it much (especially now that I have braces). *I have three big brothers and one "little" sister--they are all taller than I am! *My mom and dad are in heaven, and I miss them everyday. *I like to vacuum. *My birthday is in October. *I love keeping in touch with my former students. *What else would you like to know?
