The Illinois ABC books were so time consuming and so important, the research and creation of pages took hours from each school day. Our 4Sers worked hard to complete their books by the deadline, and most kids did! Hurray!
We did take one day off from the four week research project, and on that day we went to the Elder Day Center one last time for this year. As you'll see from the pictures below, some students helped plant flowers, some worked on a craft inside, and we all got to make some tasty American flags!
*This is my fifth (and a half) year teaching fourth grade. *I'm married, but I don't use my married name (it's Seaman). *I have a 28-year-old son, Mac. He lives in Louisiana. *I live in Aurora. *I have two dogs, Skipper Roo Seaman and Gilly Crew Seaman, they are both females. *I love to read. *I don't have one favorite book. That would be like saying I have one favorite student!
*Taking care of the Earth is important to me, so this year I decided to start thrift shopping. My goal is purchase 80% of my clothing from thrift stores over the next year.
*I'm an official volunteer for Operation Christmas Child. *I do not like to cook, but I do like to bake. *I watch television, too. *I love to walk--fast! *I enjoy riding my bike. *The White Sox are my favorite team, the Cubs are my least favorite. *I still love many Cub fans! *I'm not a big football fan, but in the fall I root for the Bears, the Colts, and the LSU Tigers. *I enjoy Charlie Brown and his friends, they teach important lessons. *Red Vines are one of my favorite candies, but I don't eat it much (especially now that I have braces). *I have three big brothers and one "little" sister--they are all taller than I am! *My mom and dad are in heaven, and I miss them everyday. *I like to vacuum. *My birthday is in October. *I love keeping in touch with my former students. *What else would you like to know?
